Something to thank Trump for when he’s gone
This editorial appeared in the Washington Post today. It shows that Trump’s constant touting that a vaccine would be available before the election (which, of course, he no longer promotes since it clearly won’t happen) will result in the vaccine being much less effective than it should be, whenever it comes out. What this means is it will take longer for the US to reach the approximately 70% immunity level required for herd immunity to kick in – and that we’ll still have to wear masks, etc. even though China and Taiwan and other countries that have truly contained the virus decided months ago they weren’t necessary anymore.
Unfortunately,
this will undoubtedly be just one of many economic, social and health “legacies”
that Mr. Trump will leave for the country to fix, to the best of our ability.
Thanks a lot, Donald!
